‘She didn’t just play, she dominated’: Young rugby sensation takes beaches by storm

A 10-year-old rugby union sensation is taking Sydney’s northern beaches by storm, and there’s no sign of her slowing down.
Coco Marsters, who plays for the Seaforth Raiders, is the first female player to be selected in the Manly Junior Representative side.
The up-and-coming footy star wowed spectators with her on-field skills at the State Gala Day last Saturday, taking out Player of the Tournament.
“She didn’t just play,” says Ben Fordham. “She dominated.”
Coco’s mum Jane Marsters tells Ben her daughter was nervous when she got the call-up but was confident she could rise to the challenge.
“She’s certainly a top little athlete and she’s out there representing the family and doing us all proud.
“She certainly showed her ability when she was trialling, and with the support of the coaches and her teammates, she really didn’t take a backward step from then on.”
The talented athlete started playing when she was five, and her three older brothers haven’t cut her any slack along the way.
“She certainly had to stand up for herself over the time.”
