Senator says Australia is at ‘great risk’ amid Solomon Island treaty with China
The Solomon Islands is set to sign a security treaty with China and Senator Matt Canavan has hit back at Anthony Albanese for his comments.
Anthony Albanese appeared to suggest, in an interview on Sky last week, that the move can be attributed to Australia’s lack of action on climate change.
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has written about this in the Spectator where he said, “It’s not climate change that has weakened our national security. Climate change policies have weakened our national security.”
Senator Canavan told Luke Grant the deal should keep “every Australian awake at night”.
“We’re putting our nation at great risk.”
