Organisations across the state have been rallying together to raise much-needed funds for our struggling farmers.

“I’ve just been blown away… by the incredible generosity of people,” says Chris Smith.

Now, Campsie RSL Group is getting involved, donating an incredible $100,000 to the Big Dry Drought Appeal.

Marketing Manager Terry Starr tells Chris it’s impossible to sit back and see farmers struggling.

“It touched everyone in the community.”

The group, which owns Campsie RSL, Club Belmore and Chester Hill RSL and Bowling Club, will also donate 100 per cent of beverage sales from all four clubs.

The initiative will run from Friday 17 August to Friday 31 August and is estimated to raise an additional $90,000.

Mr Starr says “every penny, not just the profits” will go towards the appeal.

He also hopes it will push other across around the state to follow suit.

“This is a terrible situation that our farming families and communities are faced with and we are duty bound as a group of clubs to assist in any way to we can.”
