Ray Hadley and NSW Liberal leader Mark Speakman have clashed on-air after the NSW opposition blasted the anti-corruption watchdog for being handed special powers to access illegally recorded conversations regarding claims senior Liberals helped fugitive property developer Jean Nassif secure development applications.

John Hatzistergos, the chief commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), earlier this month wrote to the state government for additional powers after coming across private conversations.

“Why are you opposed to what the Chris Minns Government is doing via regulation, as opposed to, of course, legislation?” Hadley asked Speakman.
