Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is under fire from medical experts and bureaucrats after suggesting children under 12 will need to be vaccinated before borders reopen.

Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt told Jim Wilson such an act would contravene both ATAGI advice and international precedent.

“The idea that any political leader would impose an untested, untried, untrialled vaccine on our youngest people is almost beyond comprehension.

“We’re covered under every circumstance if there are paediatric vaccines, but no one anywhere is vaccinating under 12s.

“To hold an entire … nation at bay, whilst waiting for something that hasn’t been approved, is deeply troubling.”
