Promise deleted: Labor quietly backtracks on power pledge

Ben Fordham

Ben Fordham has called out the federal government over a deleted election promise.

Going into the federal election, Labor had promised a $275 cut to power bills by 2025.

Anthony Albanese has refused to concede that promise won’t be delivered.

Instead, the pledge has been quietly deleted from Labor’s official campaign website.

“We’ve got a new type of promise in politics,” Ben said, “There are promises kept. There are promises broken. And when it comes to Labor’s pledge to bring down power prices, it’s a promise deleted!”
