Premier’s protest: Ben Fordham quizzes Gladys on her own schoolyard strike

Ben Fordham has questioned Premier Gladys Berejiklian over a protest she staged at school in 1985.

The Premier has been vocal in her disapproval of tomorrow’s school strike over climate change.

“Students should be attending school and not be attending protests during school hours,” she tells Ben Fordham.

But Ben reveals the Premier has her own history of protesting during school hours.

A 16-year-old Gladys staged a sit-in outside the principal’s office to protest the proposed closure of her school.

“But that was at least at school, we didn’t leave the school premises,” she laughs.

“It was outside the principal’s office and it lasted all of half an hour.”
