Your kids don’t read books because you don’t

Bill Woods

Bill Woods is joined by Michelle Worthington, Children’s Author & Screenwriter, who has sage advice for when your children won’t read books.

“Your children will learn reading habits from you”, says Ms Worthington.  “So, if your children don’t see that you find reading an enjoyable and exciting activity, they won’t choose books over their devices”.

“Show them that books make you laugh out loud, get totally absorbed, excited, serious, or better informed”.

“Encourage them to get Involved when you refer to cookbooks, catalogues, and newsletters to find information you need.  Read out loud to them about things that might interest them, like discoveries around a non-fiction topic they’re interested in, or a fact about a place you went on a family holiday”.
