Michael speaks with author Chris Bourne about her latest book, ‘The Last Mile: Tales of a Travelling Showman’, which fulfils a promise made over ten years ago to her father, Rod Coomber, to have his memoir published.

An epic story of one man’s life, Mrs Bourne’s book is the story of her father’s 50 years as a “showie” living, working and travelling the agricultural shows and capital shows along the East Coast of Australia.

It’s also the story of his love for his family; his wife, his children and grandchildren, his own brothers and sister and in his later years, his love of God.
