Suzuki raises prices

The cost of motoring continues to rise with Suzuki the latest car company to hike prices. The small car company which has enjoyed sales growth this year of 28 per cent has just increased prices of its SUV and hatchback range by up to $3,500. The latest rises come on top of increases of up to $1,000 earlier this year and several increases last year. Suzuki’s popular small Swift hatchback has jumped in two years by 37 percent from $18,990 to $25,990 drive-away while in September its heavily revised S-Cross SUV increased from $10,000 to $12,500 compared to predecessor. The company cites parts and material shortages plus an increase in shipping costs for the latest round of price rises. Its small 1.2- litre Ignis GL manual SUV now kicks off the Suzuki range at $23,490 drive-away, up $1500. I’m David Berthon.
