Should native animals be kept as pets?
Michael is joined by Professor Michael Archer, Palaeontologist at the University of New South Wales, who believes that allowing us to keep Australian animals as pets could help their chances of survival.
Even though the prevailing belief is that wildlife should stay in the wild, Professor Archer believes having native animals at home would aid conservation efforts.
Having kept quolls & swamp wallabies, he says they make great pets while reptile rescuers say interest in snakes and lizards as pets is growing.
