Prices not so sweet for sugar producers

The global sugar glut plaguing the industry will see prices up to 20 percent below the cost of production this season.

Tariffs introduced by the Indian government has seen sugar from the subcontinent flood the global market spiralling prices south.

The Australian Government is leading World Trade Organisation action against India for the tariffs.

To find out more about the impact of the tariffs on the season this year in Australia, rural reporter Eddie Summerfield caught up with Australian Sugar Milling Council Chief Executive David Pietsch
