Peer support groups for people coping with loss

John Stanley

Coping with the loss of a close friend or family member may be one of the hardest challenges that many of us face.

Compassionate Friend is a nationwide peer support community. Offering friendship and understanding to grieving parents, siblings and grandparents who have lost a child of any age for any reason.

Loss is understood as a natural part of life, but we can still be overcome by shock and confusion, leading to prolonged periods of sadness or depression. It’s important to know that there are peer support groups out there for people to be able to connect with others that are experiencing the same hardship.

John Stanley chats to Chris Hardwicke, the President of Compassionate Friends NSW. Chris highlights how there is no miracle cure, just comfort, support and compassion from people who can walk with you on your journey.
