Optus data breach; What you need to know

Optus customers dating back to 2017 are advised they could be at risk of identity theft after the malicious data breach
Director of Corporate Affairs at Optus Sally Oelerich answers listeners’ concerns about how Optus are contacting their customers whose personal data may have been compromised. The cyberattack is now under investigation by the Australian Federal Police so they are limited with what they can tell customers for fear of triggering a number of claims and scams. But they are not sending any links so customers receiving a link in a SMS or email should not click on them – they are scams.
