Mitsubishi’s Updated ASX SUV

Motor Torque

Mitsubishi has freshened in small ASX SUV for 2018 with some welcome updates. The ASX is our top-selling small SUV hitting a sweet spot with buyers with 2.0-litre petrol 2WD and 2.2-litre turbo diesel 4WD models offering excellent performance, practicality and economy and a sharp entry price from $25,000. Now on sale the updated model gains minor front and rear styling updates and LED daytime running lights. And a new mid-level LS model gains what Mitsubishi call advanced driver-assist systems or ADAS featuring Forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and automatic high beam features. All ASX models gain the latest smartphone connectivity, the centre console re-designed to incorporated two USB ports and a mobile phone tray. One welcome addition is new acoustic absorption material throughout the body – an automatic diesel ASX I recently tested was a little buzzy in the cabin so this new insulation will help reduce noise, vibration and harshness. All ASX’s have seven airbags, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors.
