MG HS SUV Arrives

Motor Torque

The MG brand got a big boost this week – MG once Britain’s iconic sports car brand was bought some years ago by the giant Chinese SAIC Motor Group and is on the move – sales up last year by 176 per cent on the back of its sharply priced ZS SUV and MG3 hatch. This week it released the all-new mid-sized HS SUV replacing the old and somewhat dated and obsolete GS model. The MGHS arrives in our biggest selling medium SUV segment – two models – the HS Vibe at $29,990 with a step up to $32,990 for the top-spec HS Excite. Both feature a 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder driving the front wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch automatic. I’ll be talking more about this new HS SUV in coming weeks but in short the equipment levels of both grades for the money are simply amazing. I’ve no doubt it will sell its pants of however supply levels past initial launch stock could well be impacted by the Coronavirus.
