Last minute dash to move NRL match to Canberra knocked back

Raiders CEO Don Furner has revealed today’s game between Canberra and Newcastle was close to being moved to the Nation’s Capital.

He says they tried to get at least one game moved to GIO Stadium but it logistically proved too difficult in the end.

Don also tells us that the NRL prefer to get these postponed fixtures played tomorrow and on Monday rather than pushing the season back by a week.
