Farmers Frustration at Murray Darling Basin Politics

Farming groups are calling on South Australia to put politics aside after it pulled support for a key water saving measure in the Murray Darling Basin plan.

SA Water Minister Ian hunter has withdrawn the state from the 605 Giga Litre Sustainable Diversion Limits package, that was agreed to earlier this year.

It’s also now calling for Victoria and New South Wales to deliver 450 Giga Litres to the plan from on farm water savings.

Rural reporter Eddie Summerfield caught up with New South Wales Irrigators Council Vice Chairman Tim Napier.
