Electricity rip-off for irrigators
Research has confirmed irrigators are paying too much each year for electricity.
The study found irrigators are paying $6,000 too much each a year, because they’re bills are calculated on average base load profiles.
The Agriculture Industries Energy Taskforce commissioned report found the cost to supply wholesale power to irrigators was up to 40 percent less than the cost electricity companies are charging.
