Dairy farmers back independent umpire
The consumer watchdog is calling for a mandatory code of conduct for the dairy industry.
Findings from the ACCC’s 18 month report pushes for an independent body to rule on contract disputes, and greater flexibility for farmers to switch processors.
It also found there’s no direct relationship between retail private label prices, and farm gate prices when it comes to dollar per litre milk.
