Cory Paix: The Boys Believe in Seibold

Rising Brisbane hooker Cory Paix was relieved when Brisbane finally ended their run of losses. The beleaguered Broncos changed up their preparations in the lead-up to their clash with the Bulldogs, with the players taking greater ownership as a group. The Friday before the game, players were given leeway to rest and recover, with the captain’s run not compulsory. That being said, Paix assured us “everyone was there”.

On his under-fire coach Anthony Seibold, the Queensland U20s captain reiterated his support. “Seibs is a professional. The way he goes about his business is really thorough. The boys believe in Seibs”.

Paix was a promising halfback, who has been turned into a hooker with the departure of Andrew McCullough to the Knights and the injury to Jake Turpin. “I’ve invested a lot of time in playing hooker at the moment. Seibs has got a lot of belief in me in that role and I’m enjoying it. I love the physicality of it. Using my speed out of dummy half is a great asset of mine. Halfback (is definitely still an option), but I’m enjoying my time at nine at the moment.”
