Citrus harvest continues through border closures

The New South Wales-Victorian border closures this week posed to cause all sorts of mayhem, particularly for the citrus industry in the middle of a busy harvest.

The Murray Valley is home to about a quarter of Australia’s citrus, but is split in two by the Murray River.

Thankfully, agriculture has been labelled a critical service, so the harvest has managed to carry on.

Rural editor Eddie Summerfield caught up with Citrus Australia Chief Executive Nathan Hancock.
