Chevrolet Camaro arrives as Mustangs take to the track in Adelaide

First round of the V8 Supercars takes place in Adelaide this weekend with the Superloop sponsored Adelaide 500 to be run in what looks like record temperatures. Also applying the heat – the arrival of the Ford Mustang in competition with a number of teams running Ford’s acclaimed pony car. And while the Mustang will be enjoying the limelight HSV has taken the opportunity to announce the most powerful Chevrolet Camaro the ZL1. HSV has re-engineered the potent Camaro coupe for the local market – the 6.2-litre Supercharged V8 with direct injection and variable valve timing pumps out a massive 480kW of power and 860 Nm of torque so not for the faint hearted. So too the price from $159,990 available with either 6-speed manual or 10-speed paddle shift automatic. This ultimate Chev Camaro performance car comes with a wealth of performance technologies developed on the track – the American muscle car is far from dead. I’m David Berthon
