New South Wales Farmers are welcoming news supermarkets could be facing harsher penalties if recommendations of an interim food and grocery review are adopted.

The report is about making supermarkets as competitive as they can be so Australians get the best possible prices.

Rural Reporter Georgia Kondek spoke with Vice president Rebecca Reardon who says this could set the wheels in motion to address market power misuse but more still needs to be done.
