67.1% youth unemployment rate in outback QLD
The Brotherhood of St Laurence has released a report identifying the youth unemployment hot spots throughout the country.
Alarmingly, Queensland’s outback region has recorded an unemployment rate of 67.1%, despite the national figure of 12%.
To understand what’s stopping young adults in these areas from acquiring employment and how the obstacles may be circumvented, Michael McLaren was joined by Farah Farouque from the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
