Peter Dutton admonishes QLD Premier’s ‘unforgiveable’ comments on children

Defence Minister Peter Dutton has called out the Queensland Premier over her comments around children and COVID-19.

Annastacia Palaszczuk said in Parliament said the health modelling in the national plan needed to be revised to consider infections among children, saying “every child” would be at risk if the state opened up.

Health experts have warned against increasing panic about how children are impacted by the virus.

“The Premier’s use of children as cover for extending the lockdown I just think is unforgivable,” Mr Dutton told Ray Hadley.

“I think she’s made a very, very, significant misstep there and needs to apologise for that.”
