The Sex Discrimination Commissioner has handed down her confronting report on parliamentary workplace culture, and its impact on women’s safety in particular.

Over a third of parliamentary staffers have experienced bullying, and a third have experienced sexual harassment.

Minister for Women Marise Payne told Jim Wilson the findings are “disturbing”, and the entire parliament will now consider the 28 recommendations.

“Every single Australian has a right to feel and to be safe at work.

“[It is] important that this is not partisan, nor political.”
