‘No single original thought’: Students striking for climate change yet again

Article image for ‘No single original thought’: Students striking for climate change yet again

University students across Australia are planning yet another strike to demand urgent action on climate change.

The ‘mass demonstrations’, organised by the National Union of Students, will take place tomorrow.

University students say they’ll walk out of class and take to the streets to demand 100% renewables by 2030, an end to new coal and gas projects, and a stop to the Adani coal mine.

Rita Panahi tells Steve Price they’re completely uneducated about the facts.

“So basically they’re campaigning for us to be living in caves. Our living standards, our industries, everything to go backwards, their own futures to be destroyed.

“They all regurgitate the same talking points. There is no single original thought amongst this lot.”
