There are 27 fires ablaze throughout New South Wales as crews focus on fires threatening homes in Horningsea Park and Bardia and another blaze in Spring Farm.

Rural Fire Service, inspector Ben Shepards says the fires have significantly worsened since originally breaking out around 2pm.

“We have firefighters in place to protect those homes,” he told Chris O’Keefe.

Inspector Shepards has also revealed the train lines in the area have been impacted.
