Blacktown Mayor Tony Bleasdale has hit out at new statistics that label Mount Druitt as one of Sydney’s most dangerous suburbs.

He said the fact that Blacktown had a large population, 399,711 people, meant more crime was recorded and it was unfair to compare crime statistics of Mount Druit to suburbs with much smaller populations.
