More families than ever before are deciding to make the move from Sydney to Brisbane.

Domain research has found Sydneysiders are looking to buy property in southeast Queensland more than anywhere else in Australia.

Domain data scientist Eliza Owen says nearly half the people looking to move interstate look to southeast Queensland.

“About 44 per cent of the inquiries going interstate from Sydney are going to southeast Queensland.”

She tells Chris Smith people may be leaving to escape the overcrowding and congestion in Sydney.

“Certainly with that lower-density population people might find it easier to get around.”
