McLaren: Why Dutton is “probably” on safe political ground over Gaza refugee stance
Michael McLaren has weighed in on the nuances of the Gazan refugee debate and says Dutton’s push to pause visa approvals until stringent security processes are implemented shows he’s “probably” on good political ground.
He also points out most Australians wouldn’t be comfortable with refugees who have “rhetorically” shown support for a terrorist organisation after ASIO chief Mike Burgess revealed it wouldn’t impact a Gazan refugee’s chance of being granted a visa.
