‘Mark this down’: Chris O’Keefe predicts Labor victory in Aston by-election

Following Alan Tudge’s resignation from Federal parliament, the spotlight is now on who will run in the seat of Aston.

Chris O’Keefe says the Liberals will be looking for a strong candidate to wave the flag.

“Josh Frydenberg ruled himself out this afternoon,” he said.

“The former Treasurer who was ousted by a Teal thought about it for five minutes and said no.

“But imagine this. Imagine if Labor takes Aston off the Liberal Party, there is a serious chance of that Peter Dutton is kryptonite down there.

“I’ll bet that Labor will go very very close [to] snatching the seat from Dutton’s Liberals, if not win it pretty easily. “

His resignation will trigger a by-election in the seat in Melbourne’s outer-east.

“Mark this down, I reckon Labor wins this by-election and maybe the Liberals will be looking for a return of Frydenberg.”
