NSW One Nation Leader is slamming a proposal that he says will put Indigenous children at risk.

The Greens and Labor have pushed through an amendment to the Care Act in the upper house which would introduce a ‘presumption of harm’ for any Aboriginal child being abused.

In that case, judges would be instructed that taking the child off the family is the thing that causes harm, not necessarily the abuse itself.

Mark Latham told Ray Hadley “it is absolutely barbaric”.

“It’s the disadvantaged who suffer most.

“We should fight for the safety of Indigenous kids as fiercely as we would fight for the safety of our own kids.”
