Rugby league legend Brad Fittler believes a shake-up to the Cowboys halves involving Jake Clifford and Jaxon Purdue midway through the season has proved extremely costly for the club since. 

“They had this thing in their head where Purdue was a five-eighth and they moved Purdue out of no reason at all really other than in their own mind we need to put him at five-eighth, that’s the future of the club and they pretty much lost their way since then,” Fittler said.
