Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the French Open amid “long bouts of depression”.

The world No. 2 was under fire for her decision to boycott all media activity at the Grand Slam event.

“In my opinion, she should have been allowed to play tennis and accept the fines for not doing the press conferences.

“I think it’s a massive loss for the organisers of the French Open.”
