Jim Wilson says it was a huge error of judgement for Katy Gallagher to be appointed the new Federal Minister for Women until an independent investigation is completed into allegations of bullying of the late Senator Kimberley Kitching.

Minister Gallagher, as well as Minister Penny Wong and Kristina Keneally all deny the allegations, but Jim said he was still shocked by the appointment.

Former Labor MP Michael Danby said there was still a “dark cloud” surrounding the issue.

“They think in victory they will get the spoils and no one will remember what happened,” he said.
