Jim Wilson disgusted by QLD Premier’s ‘heartless’ treatment of cancer patient

Jim Wilson has lashed out at Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, in defence of a cancer patient given the runaround by her government.

Sharen Gordon is trapped in NSW, after travelling back from her mother’s funeral in Victoria by road only to have her exemption revoked by police at the border.

Jim tore into the Premier’s “disgusting display of heartlessness”.

Sharen has undertaken 11 negative COVID tests and 30 days of self-isolation, “but that means diddly squat to the Queensland government”.

“Annastacia Palaszczuk’s decision to close hotel quarantine to the entire world, but allow a special charter flight of NRL WAGS … into her state is a stain that will permanently tarnish her record.

“It is her Waterloo moment.”

Sharen is suffering thyroid cancer, for which she needs to be treated in Queensland, and repeated anxiety attacks, while bunkered down in a motel room waiting to come home.

She told Jim she’s holding out for better news, “but it’s a day-by-day proposition”.

“Sometimes I just can’t really function … [I] just want to curl up in a ball and cry.”

Despite being located just 12 minutes from the Queensland-NSW border, she’s now been told to fly from Ballina to Sydney, then on to Brisbane.

“I am mortally afraid of going to Sydney.

“I’m a Queenslander. How could she kick me out of my own home?”
