Jim Molan slams Labor’s ‘dirty trick’

Article image for Jim Molan slams Labor’s ‘dirty trick’

Jim Molan has blasted Labor for appearing to mislead voters with their pre-polling advertising.

The Liberal Senator spotted a sign at a pre-polling station that claimed voters “must number every square”.

While that is true for the House of Representatives ballot paper, voters don’t have to number every box for the Senate.

Jim called out the sign, claiming Labor was trying to “intentionally confuse people”.

He tells Chris Smith Labor even tried to mislead people by using the recognisable purple and white colour scheme of the Australian Electoral Commission.

“When we tweeted it a whole bunch of people came out and justified it and said ‘this is fantastic, this only applies to such and such.’

“That was disappointing, because it is duplicitous.”
