‘I’ve got better things to do’: Resources Minister happy to skip UN climate conference

The federal Resources Minister says he’s more than happy to be skipping the UN’s annual climate change conference.

COP25 gets underway in Madrid today after being forced to move from Chile due to ongoing anti-government protests.

Teen climate activist Greta Thunberg will be late to the party after sailing halfway to South America in her emissions-free boat before having to turn around.

25,000 delegates are expected at the talk-fest, but Australian Resources Minister Matt Canavan won’t be one of them.

He tells Alan Jones there are plenty of places he’d rather be.

“I’m sure it’s lovely this time of year but I’ve got some better things to do.

“I haven’t committed enough sins in my life to be sent there yet, Alan.”
