Is there a link between COVID-19 and Alzheimer’s?

Ben Fordham

There are concerns there may be a link between Alzheimer’s and COVID-19.

It’s estimated nearly half a million Australians are living with the incurable disease.

St Vincent’s Hospital Head of the Centre for Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine Professor Bryce Vissel told Ben Fordham people don’t usually see symptoms until their mid-60s.

“People who have had long COVID … unfortunately, it looks like that may be increasing the risk of dementia.”
