‘I sit on my bed and cry’: Volunteer reveals homeless crisis
A woman who helps deliver food hampers, bedding and tarps to families in need says the sound of the rain leaves her in tears.
The South Coast has become a refuge for people in financial difficulty, with 50 families currently set up close to Moruya Airport.
Local charities are struggling to cope with the rising demand for their services.
Anglicare South Coast Volunteer Pauline Sullivan has told Ben Fordham, she does what she can.
“When it rains… I think I hope I’ve given them enough tarps,” she said.
