Former prime minister John Howard has weighed in on how the election will play out as Aussies prepare to head to the polls.

About a million people have already voted early ahead of the election on May 21.

Mr Howard told Ben Fordham it’s a “very tight” contest.

“I think it’s very hard to tell.

“I’m completely focused on doing every I can, in my small way, to get Scott Morrison re-elected – I think he deserves it. I believe in him.”
