Heroic actions by local tradie saves young boy’s life

Clinton Maynard

Six police officers have suffered smoke inhalation after they rescued three people from a burning house in the Inner West.

Just before 9 am today emergency services responded to reports of a house fire on Arundel Street, Glebe.

A number of NSW Police officers were first on scene and assisted three occupants out of the burning house before it got worse.

Detective Chief Inspector Grant Watson from the NSW Police told Jim Wilson, “They are all ok”.

During the fire, there was a heroic tradie who arrived on the scene and his quick thinking helped save the 15-year-old male involved.

Guy grabbed a ladder and helped the young boy get down and told Jim, “We just saw the smoke and didn’t think twice”.

Guy’s father Scott called in to say how proud he is of his son.

“He doesn’t take a backwards step.”
