Article image for Has the crowd behavior at the Australian Open gone too far?

The actions of Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis after their win in Quarter Finals doubles action does not sit well with Jim Wilson.

With the fans getting quite rowdy throughout the match, it was clearly putting off and distracting their opponents Tim Puetz, from Germany, and Michael Venus, from New Zealand and Jim Wilson has called those accountable out.

“What we got in this match was just over the top and unacceptable, and embarrassing in fact.”

Australian author, journalist, and broadcaster Justin Smith also had his say regarding Jim’s comments about the heckling tennis fans.

The reaction in Melbourne from Tennis Australia regarding the incidents has been quiet so far.

Justin told Jim, “I really feel Tennis Australia has brought this on themselves”.

“It’s a damn shame.”
