A prominent Sydney barrister is raising concerns about comments made by Bret Walker SC regarding the Voice to Parliament.

Mr Walker says those who complain about the Voice’s potential influence may be racist.

Barrister Louise Clegg has written to the New South Wales Bar Association saying his comments are “grotesque”.

“Mr Walker clearly thinks this is the right amendment… he is trying to shut down debate,” she said.

“He’s suggesting people that engage in debate around this, are racist!”
