Frustration mounts as Premier’s pay rise delayed once again

Article image for Frustration mounts as Premier’s pay rise delayed once again

Workers across NSW are growing impatient as promised pay rises remain at a standstill.

Gerard Hayes from the Health Services Union expressed his discontent to Chris O’Keefe on 2GB Drive.

“This is all about making sure that decent wages can be given to decent people, so they can look after their families. And it’s that simple”.

Hayes isn’t alone in feeling disillusioned by the inaction of the NSW government.

Stewart Little, from the Public Service Association, highlighted the rapid rate of public service personnel quitting and relocating interstate.

Little echoed the concerns, as he said “We have to knuckle down and get a process in place that gives certainty to these workers…because they are hurting”.
