Philip Ruddock wants restrictions on bright buildings

Former federal MP Philip Ruddock has called for greater restrictions on the colour of buildings in the Hornsby Shire.

Now Hornsby Shire’s mayor, Mr Ruddock says certain businesses go out of their way to paint their buildings bright colours to stand out.

Mr Ruddock joins Ben Fordham.

“I’m not against colour but I think amenity can be affected by the way in which you deal with these issues.

“We are the bushland shire, it has its own unique character.”

“You’ve got to look at particularly whether or not it is so shocking in the way in which it’s done that it undermines the overall amenity of the community.”
