A federal MP is calling on Burwood to be removed as an LGA of concern and curfews scrapped.

There have been 45 new cases in the last month in Burwood, compared to the City of Sydney, which isn’t an area of concern, with 474 new cases.

Federal member for Reid Dr Fiona Martin told Ben Fordham there’s no evidence curfews are affecting case numbers.

“They’re just ridiculous.

“They’re harsh … they’ve proved ineffective.”
