Federal Health Minister praises NSW for vaccination milestone

NSW hits a vaccination milestone with 50.6 per cent of the eligible population fully vaccinated and 81.2 per cent having had their first dose.
Greg Hunt, Federal Health Minister, told Clinton Maynard, it was a great result and NSW is leading the nation in vaccination rates.
“Even the 16 to 19 year olds … are almost at 60 per cent,” he said.
“We have been pumping vaccines in, the Moderna which is the other mRNA vaccine, the first shipment arrives tonight and second shipment over the weekend.
“More than one million doses.
“Right now, I am hoping and expecting to see an acceleration in WA and QLD, this is their chance to move through and pick up high numbers of people.”
Minister Hunt told Clinton Maynard that 96.9 per cent of staff in aged care have been vaccinated ahead of today’s mandatory deadline.
